Modern Information Management System and Its Integration

The sharp change in the economic situation associated with the Covid-19 pandemic has forced many companies to rethink their development plans, including in the IT direction. Companies from different industries and segments have approached this in different ways. In addition, some companies, according to him, seriously thought about how their ERP systems allow them to answer pressing business questions: quickly provide detailed analytical information for decision-making, serve as reliable support for the transformation of logistics processes, for the launch of new products to the market, as well as to further improve the efficiency of planning processes.

Fortunately, at present, the management’s views on the role and functionality of the management system, especially in large joint-stock companies with hired top management, are beginning to change. This, by the way, is also reflected in the change in the name of the service itself: now it is often referred to as the resource protection service or the company asset protection service. From now on, the security service (let’s keep the traditional name for the sake of generality) together with the internal audit service will become the basic elements of the company’s internal control system, the task of which is to provide shareholders (board of directors) with objective information about the state of affairs.

A characteristic feature of any modern information management system (IMS) of a large company is the hierarchical structuring of the fundamental architectural solutions and, accordingly, the distribution of various types of information over the levels of the hierarchy. Ensuring the integration and coordination of business processes is possible as a result of designing such an IMS architecture that overlaps the organizational boundaries between individual departments located at different hierarchical levels of the company.
